About Scaringi Law

Scaringi Law is a family-owned, full-service law firm serving individuals, families, and businesses throughout Central Pennsylvania. We are seeking qualified attorneys for multiple Associate Attorney openings across several practice areas.

We are hiring attorneys with experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Family Law: Divorce, custody, support, and related family law matters.
• Civil Litigation: Dispute resolution, pleadings, motions, discovery, hearings, and trials.
• Business Law: Business formation, contracts, transactions, and business-related disputes.
• Estate Planning and Administration: Wills, trusts, estate planning, and estate administration.

Each position will focus on a specific practice area or a combination of practice areas based on the attorney's qualifications and the firm's needs. Attorneys are not expected to practice in all four areas.

Focus on Practicing Law — We Handle the Business Operations

At Scaringi Law, attorneys benefit from established administrative support so they can focus on legal work, client representation, and developing their practices.

Our firm provides support with:

• Client Intake and Case Assignment: Our front desk coordinates initial consultations and assigns cases based on practice area and attorney availability.
• Billing and Collections: The firm handles billing and collection operations, allowing attorneys to concentrate on legal representation.
• Legal Support Staff: Attorneys work with assigned paralegals, law clerks, and legal assistants to support case preparation and management.
• Administrative Operations: The firm manages front desk coordination and day-to-day business operations.

Attorneys are responsible for managing their caseloads, directing their assigned support staff, maintaining client relationships, developing legal strategies, and meeting applicable deadlines. Our goal is to provide the operational support attorneys need to practice effectively and build a successful career.

Attorneys are not expected to independently generate every client or case. The firm coordinates initial consultations and case assignments, while attorneys also have opportunities to increase their earnings through business development and client origination.

Responsibilities

Depending on the assigned practice area, responsibilities may include:

• Representing clients and managing cases from intake through resolution.
• Conducting legal research and preparing pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and other legal documents.
• Advising clients on legal rights, options, risks, and strategies.
• Handling negotiations, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials as applicable.
• Managing case calendars, court deadlines, filings, and client communications.
• Directing and overseeing assigned Legal Support Staff, including paralegals, law clerks, and legal assistants.
• Delegating work appropriately and reviewing staff work for accuracy, quality, and completeness.
• Maintaining professional, ethical, and responsive client service.
• Collaborating with colleagues and contributing to the continued growth of the firm.

Compensation and Earning Potential

Scaringi Law offers a collections-based compensation structure with opportunities to increase earnings through case origination.

• 30%–40% of attorneys’ fees collected on all assigned cases, subject to the applicable compensation structure.
• Additional 7% of attorneys’ fees collected on cases the attorney originates and personally handles.
• Additional 20% of attorneys’ fees collected on cases the attorney originates that are handled by another attorney.

These additional origination percentages are based on attorneys’ fees collected and apply according to the firm's compensation structure.

Compensation is based on collections rather than a guaranteed base salary. Actual earnings depend on collected fees, case assignments, origination activity, and the applicable compensation terms.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

• A Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• An active Pennsylvania law license in good standing.
• Experience or knowledge in at least one of the listed practice areas.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, advocacy, and communication skills.
• The ability to manage multiple cases, competing priorities, and deadlines.
• The ability to direct support staff, delegate tasks, and review work effectively.
• Sound professional judgment, ethical standards, and a commitment to client service.
• The ability to work collaboratively in a professional office environment.

Work Location and Schedule

This is a full-time, fully in-office position.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Remote and hybrid arrangements are not available for these positions.

Our Hiring Process

We follow a structured hiring process to identify candidates who are a strong fit for both the position and Scaringi Law.

1. Resume Review: We review submitted resumes to identify candidates whose qualifications and experience align with our openings.
2. Employment Application: Selected candidates will be invited to complete our full employment application.
3. Screening Process: As part of our screening process, we conduct background checks, including a review of applicable attorney disciplinary history, and professional reference checks.
4. Initial Interview: Candidates advancing through the application and screening stages will meet with our Firm Administrator to discuss their experience, qualifications, and interest in the position.
5. Final Interviews: Candidates selected to move forward will typically participate in one or two additional interviews with the firm's Founders.
