Scariano Construction is a Missoula, Montana based general contractor that specializes in custom residential and commercial renovation projects. With over 30 years of hands-on experience, and 16 Missoula Historic Preservation Awards – our commitment to quality, craft and collaboration is the standard in Western Montana.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and month-end closing
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies
- Prepare, analyze, and present Work-In-Progress (WIP) and job cost reports
- Support management with financial insights and recommendations
- Verifying and investigating discrepancies, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly statements
Construction Job Costing & Project Support
- Maintain accurate job cost records
- Work closely with project managers on budgets, progress billings, and cost-to-complete reviews
- Oversee customer invoicing, pay applications, and subcontractor payments
- Monitor project profitability and identify cost variances
Payroll, Benefits & HR Administration
- Oversee payroll processing and verify accuracy of tax and benefits deductions
- Manage 401(k) contributions, fuel reimbursements, and health insurance administration
- Ensure compliance with internal HR procedures and documentation requirements
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Assist with insurance audit preparation and coordination with external accountants
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and construction industry regulations
Leadership & Organizational Support
- Provide guidance and oversight to accounting staff
- Communicate financial information clearly to leadership and project teams
- Support general office operations within a small company environment
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Fluent in Quickbooks Online, Accounts Payable Software, Excel and Google Suite
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Strong accuracy, analytical ability, and attention to detail
- Solid understanding of GAAP and bookkeeping practices
- Experience in construction accounting and job costing
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
- 3 years of experience in construction, cost accounting, or related roles

Pay: $110,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
