Staff Accountant I

Scandinavian Designs - Dania Furniture is looking for a Staff Accountant!

Location: Parkcenter Blvd, Boise, ID (non-remote)

Position: non-exempt / hourly

Compensation: Starting at $24/hour with room to grow DOE

What You'll Be Doing

• Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the field.
• Provide accounting support to key store personnel.
• Staff Accountant II’s responsibilities entail and are not limited to:
• Monthly reconciliation, analysis, and research between sub-systems and the general ledger.
• Process and prepare appropriate accounting entries and treatments.
• Monitor activities to identify any instances or occurrence of errors and take corrective actions.
• Respond to inquiries that involve searching for and abstracting technical data and detailed explanation of policies and processes.
• Assist with month-end and year-end reporting activities within the proper time frame for review.
• Create and maintain positive working relationships with staff and vendors.
• Maintain professionalism and organizational confidentiality.
• Perform other duties or ad-hoc special projects when assigned.
  
  

Who You Are

• 2 years experience as a Staff Accountant or related position that encompasses all essential job functions.
• Experience in a retail or FMCG organization preferred.
• Familiar with general accounting principles and standards.
• Microsoft Excel and PC proficiency.
• Microsoft Dynamics BC or other accounting software experience preferred.
• Good math and problem-solving skills and detail oriented.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
• Prolonged sitting, standing, moderate reaching and occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
• Occasional overtime and weekend work maybe required and travel to other locations.
• Our positions require successfully completing the pre-employment background check and signing a nondisclosure agreement.
  
  
  

Education:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required or equivalent experience as a Staff Accountant.
