Mold Technician

The Mold Technician is responsible for the evaluation and maintenance of molds and fixtures, and for developing solutions to production problems relating to molds and tooling. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Cleans and evaluates molds for necessary repairs with recommendations.

·        Performs minor repairs to molds (bolt extraction, welding, grinding, buffing).

·        Coordinates outside repairs of molds as needed.

·        Specifies and helps order replacement parts as needed.

·        Assists with troubleshooting mold issues during the molding process.

·        Ensure molds meet requirements and make recommendations as needed. 

·        Helps evaluate and validate new molds.

·        Minor fabrication, welding, and precision measurement.

·        Special projects as assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

·        High School Diploma or equivalent

·        2 years experience in a manufacturing environment.

·        Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills required. Mold setup, welding, and fabrication experience desired. 

·        Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineered drawings, GD&T, and specifications.

·        Excellent attention to detail.

·        Proficient in the use of calipers, micrometer, and depth micrometer.

·        Proficient with MS Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel).

·        Drive forklift, use pallet jack, use overhead crane.

·        Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

·        Strong sense of urgency.

·        Customer service mindset.
