Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise groups of children or youth during scheduled activities, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment.
- Plan, organize, and facilitate diverse programs such as educational workshops, sports activities, arts and theater projects, or camp sessions tailored to different age groups.
- Manage classroom or activity space effectively through strong classroom management techniques that promote positive behavior and participation.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed diligently, including administering first aid when necessary and responding promptly to emergencies.
- Support children’s development by applying principles of early childhood education and childhood development to foster learning and social skills.
- Collaborate with team members to create inclusive lesson plans that accommodate children with special needs or behavioral challenges through effective behavior management strategies.
- Maintain clear communication with parents, guardians, or caregivers regarding program progress and any concerns.
- Uphold the organization’s values by providing Christian counseling or moral guidance when appropriate within program activities.
- Assist in the setup and cleanup of activity spaces, ensuring all equipment is used responsibly and stored properly.
- Document attendance, incidents, and progress reports accurately for record-keeping purposes.
Skills
- Proven experience with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, camp, tutoring, or childcare environments.
- Strong classroom management skills that foster positive behavior and engagement among participants.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development milestones.
- Ability to implement behavior management techniques effectively to support diverse needs.
- Experience working with children with special needs or behavioral challenges is highly desirable.
- First aid certification to respond confidently in emergency situations.
- Familiarity with sports coaching, theater arts, or other extracurricular activities that enhance program offerings.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and engaging with parents or guardians.
- Experience providing Christian counseling or moral guidance aligned with program values is a plus.
