We are looking for a senior vice president, ALM who will lead the strategic management of the client’s balance sheet, interest rate risk, and liquidity positioning. This role will act as a thought partner to the treasurer.
The role will provide deep subject matter expertise in ALM, with experience in QRM. The SVP will also be responsible for developing a high-performing ALM team, strengthening analytical capabilities, and aligning ALM insights with executive decision-making across Treasury, Finance, Risk, and business leadership.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partner closely with the Treasurer and executive leadership to shape the bank’s balance sheet strategy across interest rate environments.
- Provide forward-looking insights on interest rate risk, liquidity positioning, and funding strategy to support strategic planning.
- Drive discussions at ALCO (Asset Liability Committee) and contribute to executive decision-making on balance sheet management.
- Lead the measurement and monitoring of Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book
- Oversee scenario analysis and stress testing across multiple rate environments.
- Ensure interest rate risk exposures remain within board-approved risk appetite and regulatory expectations
- Ensure ALM practices comply with regulatory guidance
- Support regulatory examinations and internal audit reviews related to ALM and IRR frameworks.
- Maintain strong governance around model assumptions, methodologies, and reporting
- Build and mentor a high-performing ALM team, strengthening technical capabilities in balance sheet modelling and analytics.
- Provide coaching and career development to staff across Treasury and ALM functions.
- Foster a culture of analytical rigor, transparency, and continuous improvement.
- Help elevate the ALM function as a strategic partner to Treasury and executive leadership
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related discipline
- Advanced degree (MBA, MS Finance, Financial Engineering) preferred
Experience:
- 12 years of experience in Treasury, ALM, or balance sheet risk management within a bank or financial institution
- Deep experience in ALM modelling platforms such as QRM
- Strong understanding of interest rate risk management and liquidity risk frameworks
- Experience working with ALCO and senior executive leadership
- Ability to translate complex analytics into strategic insights for senior leadership
- Strong stakeholder engagement with Treasury, Finance, Risk, and business units
- Proven ability to develop teams and elevate analytical capabilities
- Excellent communication and executive presentation skills
