The Senior GL Accountant is a hands-on member of ScaleFlux's U.S. Accounting and Finance team responsible for maintaining accurate general ledger records and supporting a timely monthly, quarterly, and annual close. This role prepares journal entries, performs account reconciliations, analyzes financial activity, and supports day-to-day accounting operations for the U.S. organization

This individual will work closely with Finance colleagues and cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues, improve close efficiency, and maintain accurate supporting documentation

Key Responsibilities
General Ledger & Financial Close
• Prepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries with complete supporting documentation.
• Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items on a timely basis.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities and ensure assigned tasks are completed according to the close calendar.
• Review general ledger activity for accuracy, completeness, and proper account classification.
• Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts and explain significant period-over-period variances.
• Maintain schedules supporting key general ledger accounts and close activities.
Accruals, Prepaids & Fixed Assets
• Prepare and maintain operating expense accruals, including professional services, employee-related expenses, and other recurring costs.
• Maintain prepaid expense schedules and prepare monthly amortization entries.
• Maintain the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.
• Review supporting documentation to ensure expenses are recorded in the appropriate accounting period and general ledger account.
• Assist with payroll-related journal entries and account reconciliations.
Intercompany & Cash Accounting
• Record and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances with global entities.
• Assist with cash, bank, and credit card reconciliations.
• Investigate and resolve differences with internal teams and global accounting counterparts.
• Support foreign currency remeasurement entries and related account analysis, as assigned.
Audit & Accounting Support
• Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for external audits and other accounting reviews.
• Respond to audit requests and assist with resolving questions related to assigned accounts.
• Maintain organized accounting records and documentation in accordance with company retention practices.
• Support ad hoc accounting projects and financial analyses requested by Finance leadership.
Process Improvement & Business Partnership
• Identify opportunities to simplify recurring accounting tasks and improve close efficiency.
• Document accounting procedures and maintain clear desk-level instructions for assigned responsibilities.
• Partner with Payroll, Procurement, Accounts Payable, and other teams to obtain accurate and timely accounting information.
• Assist with ERP enhancements, reporting improvements, and other Finance initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5 years of progressive general ledger accounting experience.
• Strong experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, and month-end close.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, lookups, and SUMIFS.
• Experience working with an ERP or general ledger system.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently, investigate issues, and communicate clearly with internal stakeholders.
Preferred
• Experience in a technology, semiconductor, hardware, or multinational company.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or a similar ERP platform (NetSuite, SAP).
• Experience supporting external audits and working with accounting teams in multiple countries or time zones (India, China).

• CPA certification or progress toward CPA certification.
