Grill Cook / Line Cook - All Shifts + Weekend Availability

As a Grill Cook / Line Cook at the Scale Dodger, you will be an integral part of our kitchen team, responsible for preparing and cooking a wide array of grilled menu items. Your expertise in handling various grilling techniques and attention to detail will contribute to the consistent delivery of delightful dishes, leaving our guests satisfied and eager to return.

Key Responsibilities:

• Grill Station Management: Operate and maintain the grill station efficiently during service hours, ensuring timely preparation and delivery of grilled menu items.
• Food Preparation: Accurately measure, season, and marinate various cuts of meat, seafood, and vegetables for grilling, adhering to established recipes and standards.
• Cooking Expertise: Demonstrate proficiency in grilling techniques such as direct heat, indirect heat, searing, and smoking to achieve optimal flavor and texture for different dishes.
• Food Safety and Hygiene: Follow strict food safety guidelines and sanitation standards to ensure a clean and safe cooking environment, minimizing the risk of foodborne illnesses.
• Quality Control: Monitor the quality of ingredients and finished products, promptly addressing any inconsistencies or issues to maintain the highest level of culinary excellence.
• Collaboration: Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth food preparation and timely service, fostering a positive and efficient working environment.
• Stock Management: Assist in monitoring inventory levels of grilling ingredients, informing the kitchen manager or supervisor when supplies need replenishment.
• Cleaning and Maintenance: Participate in regular cleaning and maintenance of the grill station and equipment, ensuring their proper functioning and longevity.
• Menu Development: Collaborate with the chef in creating and refining grilled menu items, contributing your expertise to enhancing our offerings.
• Adaptability: Be open to cross-training in other kitchen roles to support the team during peak business hours or for training purposes.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to pass a drug test.
• Proven experience as a Grill Cook or similar role in a high-quality restaurant or food establishment.
• In-depth knowledge of various grilling techniques, cooking temperatures, and flavor profiles.
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Team player with excellent communication skills.
• Creativity and passion for delivering exceptional culinary experiences.
