Position Overview
We are seeking a highly driven Engineering Technician / Trainee Process Engineer to support process engineering activities in a chemical and consumer goods manufacturing plant. This entry-level role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career engineers looking to gain hands-on experience in process design, plant engineering, and chemical operations. The candidate will work onsite, supporting engineering deliverables, plant walkdowns, process documentation, and coordination with vendors, construction teams, and offshore engineering resources.

Key Responsibilities1. Onsite Process Engineering Support
- Work onsite as a Process Engineer within a chemical or consumer product manufacturing plant.
- Support day-to-day engineering operations and plant technical activities.
2. Coordination & Execution of Engineering Deliverables
- Understand project scope from the customer and coordinate with offshore engineering teams to deliver process documents.
- Attend design meetings, review sessions, and provide clarifications as required.
3. Field Walkdowns & Data Collection
- Perform site walkthroughs to gather required design inputs.
- Prepare field markups, collect equipment data, operational parameters, and process information needed for engineering design.
4. Vendor & Construction Coordination
- Interface with vendors, equipment suppliers, and construction teams to obtain technical data and documentation.
- Ensure required design inputs are received in a timely manner.
5. Process Documentation & Approvals
- Support preparation and review of PFDs, P&IDs, and engineering documents.
- Participate in design review meetings and obtain customer approvals.
6. Construction & Startup Support
- Provide engineering assistance during construction, commissioning, and plant startup activities.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving process-related issues during execution.
Required Skills & KnowledgeChemical Engineering Fundamentals
- Strong understanding of:
- Heat Transfer
- Fluid Mechanics
- Mass Transfer
- Ability to apply engineering principles to plant systems and process design.
Process Engineering Tools
- Ability to prepare Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Skilled in mass & energy balance calculations.
- Knowledge of equipment sizing, line sizing, and pressure drop calculations.
Software & Technical Skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is mandatory.
- Familiarity with any of the following is an added advantage:
- Hydraulic calculation software
- HTRI
- AutoCAD
Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs during plant walkdowns.
- Ability to stand for extended periods (minimum 2 hours).
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment with diverse stakeholders.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
