Paralegal - Insurance Defense/Personal Injury
Scahill Law Group P.C. is a leading New York Litigation Law Firm dedicated to serving commercial insurers and self-insured corporations. For over 40 years we have focused solely on Civil and Insurance Defense Litigation for first-party and third-party lawsuits. Our practice groups include the defense of insurance, automobile, construction, labor law, and contract matters as well as the defense of claims filed under the Child Victims Act and the Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Law.
Scahill Law Group is seeking experienced and motivated paralegals to join our team. Supporting our attorney's take organization, dedication among other traits to successfully handle all aspects of a matter.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
· Provide efficient administrative support.
· Assist attorneys in handling cases from inception to the resolution of the matter.
· Draft pleadings, discovery demands and responses, motions, various correspondence to clients and adversaries, etc.
· Assist in trial preparation and various discovery.
· Mail, fax, E-File, or arrange for delivery of legal correspondence to clients, witnesses, and court officials.
· Assist attorneys in collecting information such as employment, medical, and other records.
· Receive and place telephone calls.
· 3 Plus years of experience as a Paralegal with working knowledge of insurance defense and/or Personal Injury Law
. Customer service skills
. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
. Strong Writing skills
· Attention to detail, organized, time management
. Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume firm

- $26 - $38 per hour – Commensurate on Experience
