Role Description
As a Recovery Technician, you will help maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for clients by monitoring program activities, supporting daily routines, and responding to client needs with professionalism and compassion. You will be a consistent, trusted presence — ensuring clients feel safe, supported, and cared for every shift.
Responsibilities include:
- Orient new clients to the facility and review program rules and expectations
- Complete all non-clinical admission paperwork and documentation required by the department
- Screen incoming client property to check for inappropriate items being brought into the facility
- Observe medication self-administration and account for all medications on site in accordance with department procedures
- Manage and coordinate medical, behavioral, emergency, or facility issues quickly and efficiently, notifying the appropriate authority as needed
- Investigate suspicious or unusual behavior to ensure the safety of clients and the facility
- Provide clients with clean linens, towels, and personal supplies
- Check and clean laundry and client areas following Universal Precautions guidelines and department procedures
- Answer and direct incoming telephone calls as needed
- Monitor the security of the department regularly
Qualifications
- Associate's degree and 1 year of experience preferred; High School Diploma or GED required
- 1 year of related experience preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
- Valid and unrestricted Connecticut Driver's License; with the ability to drive an agency vehicle
- CPR and First Aid Certification required within six months of employment
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to trauma-informed care, recovery-oriented practice, and SCADD's values of diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
