What are the responsibilities and job description for the Theater Events Manager position at SCAD?
As the theater events manager, you will assist the executive director of SCAD theaters and festivals with management and execution of all events produced by the SCAD Spring Street Theater. The manager will oversee rentals, tech production, all theater events, and building work orders. The position also includes assisting the executive director with the planning, management, and execution of the annual SCAD Savannah Film Festival and SCAD TVfest.
Among other duties, you will manage box office setup and sales, all theater print and marketing requests, theater websites and social media, theater invoicing and payments, and time sheets and schedules for all interns, security employees, concession workers, and ushers. You will also coordinate event tech requests with the production team.
Additionally, you will manage certain aspects of the SCAD Savannah Film Festival and SCAD TVfest, including guest travel- and accommodation-planning such as booking flights, booking car service, maintaining transportation sheet with all guest-travel information, and executing hotel contracts and negotiating rates. Event logistics responsibilities include VIP guest relations, sponsorship programming, advertising, festival branding, press schedules, receptions, VIP guest itineraries, and on-site transportation. You will also assist with external campus events for SCAD as needed. Evening and weekend hours are required.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least two years management in event or theater operations
- Highly organized and computer proficient
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
Certificates, licenses, and registrations: Valid driver’s license and vehicle
Travel required: Less than 10%
Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
