Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Perform a variety of orthopedic related activities including applying and removing dressings, assisting in operating room as permitted by state guidelines, removing sutures/staples, applying and removing casts and splints, monitoring and distributing DME.
• Assist staff in other duties including escorting patients, taking vital signs and and assisting with minor procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocols.
  
  

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain work area, ORs, supplies.
• Perform associated clerical tasks as assigned.
• Maintain professional appearance and personal conduct at all times.
• Adhere to employer work practices.
• Work as a team member within the Operating Room and all other departments.
• Effectively cope with typical job stress.
• Document work processes as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Certified Orthopedic Technology training program preferred.
• And/or Completion of an Allied Health program in a related field with Surgical Assist program preferred.
• And/or Completion of an accredited medical assistant program
• Certification/Licensure: AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider
• Experience: Minimum two (2) years experience in a clinic and/or hospital/surgery center setting.
