Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Perform a variety of orthopedic related activities including applying and removing dressings, assisting in operating room as permitted by state guidelines, removing sutures/staples, applying and removing casts and splints, monitoring and distributing DME.
- Assist staff in other duties including escorting patients, taking vital signs and and assisting with minor procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocols.
- Maintain work area, ORs, supplies.
- Perform associated clerical tasks as assigned.
- Maintain professional appearance and personal conduct at all times.
- Adhere to employer work practices.
- Work as a team member within the Operating Room and all other departments.
- Effectively cope with typical job stress.
- Document work processes as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a Certified Orthopedic Technology training program preferred.
- And/or Completion of an Allied Health program in a related field with Surgical Assist program preferred.
- And/or Completion of an accredited medical assistant program
- Certification/Licensure: AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider
- Experience: Minimum two (2) years experience in a clinic and/or hospital/surgery center setting.
Salary : $18 - $25
