Must have your own transportation to and from site daily. This is a contract position that will lead to other contract work with the company
Responsibilities
- Install and configure fiber optic cables, Ethernet wiring, and telecommunication systems in residential and commercial settings
- Set up and troubleshoot Cisco routers, switches, and other networking equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Use hand tools and mechanical knowledge to run cables through walls, ceilings, and underground pathways securely
- Conduct network installation tasks including cabling for Ethernet, telephony, and low voltage systems
- Test network connections using tools like ohmmeters and ensure proper functioning of all installed systems
- Perform field service duties such as diagnosing issues, repairing damaged cabling, and replacing faulty components
- Follow safety protocols related to electrical work and low voltage wiring to maintain a safe working environment
Skills
- Proven experience in cable installation, fiber splicing, or network setup with a strong understanding of telecommunication systems
- Knowledge of computer networking concepts including Ethernet, IP addressing, and network topology
- Hands-on experience working with routers, switches, and related networking hardware
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand tools effectively for cabling and equipment installation
- Familiarity with telephony systems and low voltage wiring standards
- Strong problem solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues quickly and implement effective solutions
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients on-site
