Material Handler/Forklift Operator

Position Summary:

The Material Handler is responsible for the efficient and timely movement of raw materials, components, and finished goods within a fast-paced production environment. This role supports manufacturing operations by ensuring materials are accurately stocked, staged, and delivered to the appropriate areas, and assists in inventory control and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Load, unload, and transport materials to and from production areas and warehouse using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manually as needed.
• Supply production lines with required materials to prevent downtime and ensure continuous operations.
• Perform regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies to maintain accurate stock levels.
• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and report damages or shortages.
• Maintain proper labeling and organization of inventory in storage areas for easy identification and retrieval.
• Follow First-In, First-Out (FIFO) or other inventory management practices.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with safety standards.
• Complete required documentation for material movement and inventory tracking in ERP/WMS systems.
• Communicate effectively with production, warehouse, and quality control teams.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of experience in material handling, warehousing, or a production-related role preferred.
• Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification required).
• Basic computer and data entry skills; experience with ERP or inventory management systems a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.50 - $18.95 per hour
