Role Description The Health Plan Specialist is a part-time role responsible for helping Medicare beneficiaries understand and evaluate their health plan options. In this hybrid position based on Oahu, HI, the specialist will meet with clients in person and remotely, conduct needs assessments, explain plan features and benefits, and guide individuals through enrollment and changes to their coverage. Daily tasks include answering questions by phone and email, maintaining accurate client records, following up with beneficiaries to ensure satisfaction, and coordinating with internal team members to resolve issues. The role also involves staying current on Medicare policies and plan updates, participating in outreach or educational activities, and providing service with empathy and professionalism, with some work-from-home flexibility.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Communication and Customer Service skills to clearly explain Medicare options and provide respectful, client-focused support.
- Candidates should possess knowledge or experience in Occupational Health and Medicine to understand how health coverage impacts beneficiaries’ overall care and needs.
- Candidates should have excellent organizational and time management abilities, with attention to detail in documentation and follow-up.
- Candidates should be comfortable using basic computer applications, CRM or enrollment systems, and working in a hybrid environment (office and remote).
