This designer will contribute across multiple categories including pajamas, loungewear, ready to wear, and swim.
Responsibilities
- Design seasonal children’s assortments across categories including pajamas, loungewear, casuals, knits/cut & sew, and ready to wear. This designer will also partner with our swim designer on kids swim, and help advise on safety requirements & most up to date regulations
- Own design programs from concept through production handoff, ensuring seasonal timelines and deliverables are met.
- Research trends and conduct competitive shopping to inform seasonal silhouette, color, print, and category direction.
- Develop seasonal inspiration and concept presentations highlighting key materials, prints, trims, and silhouettes.
- Create sketches and color CADs for seasonal development boards and collection line sheets.
- Partner closely with Print Design to develop print direction and ensure color accuracy and quality standards.
- Collaborate with Product Development, Merchandising, and Production to align on development calendars, costing targets, and assortment strategy.
- Communicate with overseas factories on sourcing, sampling, proto development, and tech pack execution.
- Support fabric, trim, and component development appropriate for children’s product with attention to comfort, durability, and safety standards.
- Ensure designs meet children’s apparel construction, fit, and product safety requirements.
- Identify opportunities for innovation in materials, silhouettes, and category expansion within the children’s business.
- Strong sketching ability and design point of view
- 5 to 7 years apparel design experience, children’s experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field preferred
- Knowledge of children’s apparel construction, fit, and compliance regulations
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Ability to create color CADs and presentation boards
- Strong organization and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects within seasonal calendars
- Collaborative, cross functional working style
- Experience with Miro or similar collaboration tools a plus
Salary : $110,000 - $120,000
