Position Overview
A growing food packaging manufacturer in Rosedale, MD is seeking an experienced Industrial Machinery Mechanic to support production operations on 1st and 2nd shift. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and capable of troubleshooting and repairing a wide range of production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
2nd Shift Hours: 2:15 PM – 11:00 PM
Training Schedule: Candidates must be available to train on 1st shift (5:45 AM – 2:30 PM).
Key Responsibilities
Follow all safety procedures and company regulations while working on production equipment and facility systems.
Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
Diagnose equipment issues quickly and perform repairs to minimize production downtime.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
Assist in training operators on the safe and proper use of equipment.
Collaborate with maintenance personnel and production teams to maximize equipment reliability and efficiency.
Monitor inventory of replacement parts and submit requests as needed.
Conduct facility inspections to identify maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
Support ongoing operational improvements through strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Assist on the production floor when needed and contribute as a team player.
Qualifications
Proficiency with maintenance tools, equipment, and repair procedures.
Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and HVAC systems.
Understanding of safety standards and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, SQF, and other food safety programs preferred.
Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Experience
Minimum of 2 years of industrial maintenance or production mechanic experience.
Experience in food manufacturing or packaging environments is a plus.
Additional Requirements
Ability to commute to Rosedale, MD 21237.
Availability for day or evening shifts.
This is an on-site position.
Pay: $25.00 – $36.00 per hour
