What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full-time or Bi-Vocational Pastor position at SBC Executive Committee?
Sobol Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking a full-time or bi-vocational pastor who will lead
our congregation in faithful Biblical teaching, Christ-centered preaching, prayer, discipleship,
and spiritual growth.
We are looking for a pastor who is committed to the Word of God, has a heart for people, and
desires to serve the church and reach the surrounding community with the Gospel of Jesus
Christ.
About Our Church
Sobol Baptist Church is an autonomous Baptist church that cooperates with other Southern
Baptist churches through the Frisco Baptist Association, the Baptist General Convention of
Oklahoma, and the Southern Baptist Convention. We value Biblical teaching, Christ-centered
ministry, discipleship, and reaching our community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Our Beliefs
We affirm the authority of the Word of God as our sole authority in matters of faith and practice.
We also value the historic Baptist confessions of faith as helpful summaries of the beliefs held
among Baptist churches. In particular, we recognize the Second London Baptist Confession of
Faith of 1689 as a fuller expression of these beliefs and the Baptist Faith and Message of 2000
as a more concise summary.
We seek a pastor who shares our commitment to the authority of Scripture, faithful Biblical
preaching, the spiritual growth of our congregation, and proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Pastoral Responsibilities Include

- Preparing and delivering two messages each week. One Sunday morning and one Sunday evening.
- Providing Biblical teaching and encouraging spiritual growth among the congregation.
- Performing necessary church administrative and office work.
- Visiting and caring for church members and their families.
- Officiating weddings and funerals.
- Providing pastoral counseling and member care.
- Encouraging discipleship, outreach, and community engagement.
- Providing pastoral guidance and support to the congregation.
