Basic Function

The Commissioning (CX) Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing commissioning activities for data center and mission-critical projects. This role ensures all systems are installed, tested, and operate according to design intent, client requirements, and reliability standards. The CX Manager works closely with construction, engineering, and operations teams to support successful system startup and turnover.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage commissioning activities from design review through project turnover
  • Develop and maintain commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and engineers to support system installation and readiness
  • Review design documents, submittals, and shop drawings for commissioning requirements
  • Oversee pre-functional and functional testing of systems, including:
    • Electrical systems (switchgear, UPS, generators, PDUs)
    • Mechanical systems (chillers, CRAH/CRAC, pumps, piping)
  • Manage issue tracking (deficiency logs) and ensure timely resolution
  • Support and lead integrated systems testing (IST) and full facility performance validation
  • Work with controls teams to verify sequences of operation and system integration
  • Coordinate with utility providers and support energization activities
  • Ensure documentation is complete, including test scripts, reports, and turnover packages
  • Facilitate communication between construction, design, and client teams
  • Support client training and handover of operational systems
  • Data center or mission-critical project experience (Preferred)
  • Experience with building automation systems (BAS/BMS) (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with standards (ASHRAE, Uptime Institute)
  • Experience supporting client operations teams during turnover
Qualifications/Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in commissioning, construction, or MEP systems (data center experience preferred)
  • Strong understanding of electrical and/or mechanical systems
  • Experience with commissioning processes (pre-functional, functional testing, IST)
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and one-line diagrams
  • Familiarity with commissioning tools, documentation platforms, and tracking logs
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple systems and priorities in a fast-paced environment

Location: On-site Temple, TX

Base Pay - $115,000-$165,000

The pay range mentioned above is a guideline. We tailor each offer based on your unique skills, experience, location, and market benchmarks—while ensuring internal parity across our teams. In addition to competitive base pay, total compensation may include a discretionary annual bonus and a market leading comprehensive health and wellness benefits package. Final details will be discussed during the later stages of the hiring process.
