Job Description/Responsibilities
The Role
The Assistant Processing Manager leads the day-to-day operations of our Processing Department — from production planning and raw material management to blending, filtering, and formula compliance. This is a high-impact leadership role overseeing 10 processing areas with over 200 tanks, 5 supervisors, and 48 processors.
You’ll be a key driver of safety, quality, efficiency, and team development — and a critical partner in delivering the exceptional spirits our customers expect.
What You’ll Do
Operations & Production
- Lead 10 processing areas (200 tanks), 5 supervisors, and 35 processors to meet production targets within safety, quality, budget, and regulatory standards.
- Partner with processing and materials coordinators on accurate production booking and TTB compliance documentation.
- Manage bulk spirit shipments to other Sazerac facilities and minimize flavor inventory and ingredient expiration.
Safety & Compliance
- Champion and enforce OSHA, HACCP, and company safety policies throughout the Processing Department.
- Lead the development of safe operating procedures to reduce the frequency and severity of workplace incidents.
- Investigate EH&S incidents to identify root causes and drive corrective action.
Quality & Efficiency
- Monitor batching, filtering, and product accuracy to ensure standards and ISO requirements are consistently met.
- Analyze production data to identify opportunities to improve yields and throughput without compromising quality.
- Drive waste reduction and juice loss minimization while keeping labor costs on target.
People & Culture

Qualifications/Requirements
What You’ll Bring
Required
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5 years of manufacturing experience in CPG or process industries
- Proven track record with LEAN, Continuous Improvement, and Kaizen initiatives
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills (maintenance, quality, safety)
- Effective communicator across all levels of an organization
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Preferred
- Experience with processing and batching operations
- 2 years of people management experience
- 2 years managing in a union environment
- Strong analytical and technical skills
Salary range - $84,000 - $126,000
*Placement within the salary range is calculated based upon years of directly relatable experience for the position.
