Sayre School is seeking a highly motivated and qualified art teacher who desires a professional and fun working environment dedicated to student growth, progress, and achievement. The successful candidate holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Art or Art Education, experience in the field, and an interest in collaborating with a team of teachers. An active curiosity about kids of this age, openness to all forms of human diversity, flexibility and a sense of humor are key. This is a wonderful independent school and a great place to work.

Job Responsibilities And Opportunities Include
- Teaching general art classes for grades 5 - 8, and offering an after-school middle school art club one day per week.
- Working with a group of advisees and supporting the social-emotional needs of students
- Director for middle school Art exhibits
- Developing the art program, including working with the Lower and Upper School art faculty for cross-divisional exhibits at school and in the community
- Working collaboratively with the team of Visual and Performing Arts teachers and other colleagues
- Collaborating with other performing arts faculty in planning and producing the annual Grandparents’/Special Persons’ Day performance
- Writing narrative comments about students at the conclusion of each term
- Serving on committees and occasional supervision or other duties around the school
