​​Role and Responsibilities​

The client is seeking an experienced Program Manager that is responsible for overseeing a complex, highly regulated program to ensure the organization remains in strong legal, regulatory, and financial standing while supporting effective governance and day‑to‑day execution. This role owns program‑level compliance activities, financial coordination, vendor oversight, and governance workflows, and serves as a key liaison between the Board of Directors, third‑party service providers, and internal stakeholders. The Program Manager operates independently, manages multiple workstreams, and provides structure, visibility, and accountability across compliance, finance, governance, and fundraising initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate program activities related to nonprofit compliance, governance, finance, vendors, and fundraising operations
  • Oversee regulatory compliance workstreams, including federal and state nonprofit filings and registrations
  • Coordinate preparation and submission of IRS Form 990 and required state documentation
  • Maintain program documentation including governing documents, bylaws, board resolutions, and policies
  • Develop and manage an integrated compliance and governance calendar to track deadlines and dependencies
  • Monitor regulatory changes and communicate program‑level impacts and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Coordinate work across legal counsel, accountants, auditors, and other external service providers
  • Plan and manage program activities supporting annual audits and resolution of audit findings
  • Oversee financial administration workstreams including bookkeeping, payments, and controls
  • Prepare and present consolidated financial summaries, reports, and updates for the Board
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow tracking at the program level
  • Coordinate Board and committee meetings including schedules, agendas, materials, minutes, and follow‑ups
  • Ensure proper documentation and tracking of Board decisions and approvals
  • Manage vendor relationships supporting grant administration, disbursements, and program operations
  • Monitor vendor performance, contracts, and compliance with agreed‑upon program expectations
  • Coordinate operational activities supporting fundraising initiatives and events
  • Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of fundraising financial activity
  • Manage interdependencies and workload fluctuations across regulatory deadlines, board cycles, and fundraising events

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration, or related field
  • 5 years of experience in program management, governance, compliance, or regulated operational environments
  • Experience managing complex programs with multiple workstreams and external vendors
  • Experience coordinating regulatory compliance initiatives and statutory filings
  • Experience supporting financial administration, reporting, and internal controls
  • Familiarity with nonprofit governance structures and Board operations
  • Experience coordinating audits and working with external accounting or legal partners
  • Proficiency with financial systems such as QuickBooks or comparable platforms
  • Experience preparing executive‑level reports and Board materials
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage calendars, dependencies, and deadlines
  • Ability to operate independently and provide structure in ambiguous or high‑accountability

Pay: $70,000.00 per year
