What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grocery Retail - Front End Associate position at Sayar Food Market II Inc?
Action oriented member of the Front-End team to include assisting customers during the check-out process, performing all cash register functions, bagging groceries, working at the pastry counter and cleaning. Works to maintain attractive customer service displays and front end of the store. All Sayar Market Retail roles show a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and respect to Team Members at all times.
Job Responsibilities
- Processes customer grocery order efficiently and accurately- in person and online
- Provide excellent customer service, address customer needs in a timely and effective manner and models suggestive selling techniques; answers phones promptly and courteously.
- Follows all cash handling procedures – meeting cashier variance policy.
- Cleans and stocks Front End areas- including registers, displays, seating, bakery & bathrooms. Communicates low stock quantities effectively for both supplies and retail
- Maximizes sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
- Maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; maintains equipment in accordance with Sayar Market cleanliness and safety standards.
Job Skills

- Excellent understanding of US monetary system
- Excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team
- Strong Computer skills- ability to learn POS system and operate scales
- Strong work ethic & works with a sense of urgency.

Experience
- 1-3 years prior retail experience desired, training provided
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
- In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
- Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.50 - $18.00 per hour
