Job Summary
Provides coordinated, high-quality nursing care to assigned PACU/OR patients in accordance with established standards and the nursing process. Responsible for supervising assigned nursing staff, supporting intraoperative functions, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Utilizes strong critical-thinking, supervisory discretion, and independent clinical judgment.
Note: This department covers operating room services and intraoperative care. It does not include PACU, anesthesia, pre-op, or sterile processing unless combined.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) – Preferred
- Acute-care facility experience – Preferred
Experience
- SELMA Day Shift assignment
- Recent OR/PACU experience strongly preferred
Licenses & Certifications
- Active RN license – CA (Required)
- BLS (Required)
- ACLS (Required)
- PALS (Required)
(Healthstream and RQI equivalents accepted)
Essential Functions
- Assess, analyze, and document patient status throughout perioperative stages
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans
- Coordinate care and communicate with surgical teams, anesthesia, and PACU staff
- Ensure a safe environment and support best practices for surgical services
- Educate patients and families during pre- and post-operative phases
- Delegate and supervise support staff appropriately
- Participate in discharge planning and continuity-of-care processes
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $65.00 - $68.00 per hour
