Job Purpose:
- The Sound Tech at Sawdust Festival Corporation is responsible for ensuring high-quality audio production and seamless sound operations during events. This role involves collaborating with the event team to set up, manage, and dismantle sound equipment, ensuring that every performance meets professional standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with stage set-up and break-down, ensuring all sound equipment is correctly installed and removed.
- Provide audio engineering support, including mixing sound for live performances and troubleshooting any technical issues that may arise.
- Collaborate with performers and event staff to ensure optimal sound quality and address any specific audio requirements.
- Maintain and organize sound equipment inventory, ensuring all gear is in excellent working condition.
- Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards during all sound operations.
- Continuously monitor sound levels and make adjustments as necessary to enhance the audience experience.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in audio engineering or a related field is preferred.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in live sound engineering or a similar role.
- Proven track record of setting up and breaking down audio equipment for live events.
- Experience working in a festival or live performance environment is an advantage.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in operating soundboards, microphones, and other audio equipment.
- Strong understanding of audio signal flow and acoustics.
- Ability to troubleshoot audio issues quickly and effectively during live events.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with performers and other technical staff.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
