Thisis not simply a service position — it is a floor leadership role requiring maturity, strongjudgment, and the ability to uphold our standards of excellence in a high-volume, fine diningenvironment.The Lead Server will work closely with management to ensure seamless service, maintain teamaccountability, and actively drive the guest experience during brunch service.Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of NYC casual fine dining experience, withdemonstrated leadership ability on the floor.Current Dinner Hours:Wednesday–Friday: 5:00 PM – 10:00 PMSunday: 5:00 PM – 9:30 PMSaturday/Sunday brunch, weekends and holiday availability is required.Leadership & Management Responsibilities Act as a floor leader during service, ensuring smooth execution from open to close Support management in upholding service standards and Standard Operating Procedures Lead by example in hospitality, professionalism, and composure Assist in guiding and supporting other servers and support staff during service Monitor pacing of service, course firing, and table maintenance across sections Proactively identify and resolve service issues before they escalate Communicate clearly and consistently with management regarding guest concerns, teamperformance, or operational challenges Maintain accountability for cash handling and transaction accuracy Ensure side work is completed thoroughly and efficiently Support training and mentorship of newer team members as neededService Expectations Deliver warm, knowledgeable, and polished service at all times Speak confidently about menu offerings, including food, wine, and spirits Accurately communicate dietary restrictions and special requests to the kitchen Execute thoughtful upselling aligned with guest experience Maintain a clean, organized section and dining room environment Remain calm and solutions-oriented during high-volume serviceQualifications Minimum 3 years of New York restaurant experience in a comparable fine or casual finedining establishment Proven ability to lead a section and support broader floor operations Strong decision-making skills and situational awareness Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Highly organized with strong attention to detail Ability to multitask and maintain excellence under pressureTeam Expectations Arrive punctual, polished, and prepared Adhere to scheduling and operational standards Maintain professionalism, kindness, and respect toward guests and colleagues Take ownership of service outcomes Be receptive to feedback and committed to continuous improvement Communicate proactively and responsiblyCompensation & Perks $18.00/hour plus tips Dining discountsSawa is an equal opportunity employer.
