REPORTS TO: Director of Public Safety
Status: Non-Exempt, PT
PRIMARY PURPOSE: Protect the assets and interests of the Association through effective enforcement of SCECA rules and regulations.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
· Conduct mobile and foot patrols
· Conduct amenity checks throughout shift
· Respond to all calls for service
· Issue citations when warranted
· Generate incident reports for all calls for service
· Work closely with law enforcement, fire and EMS
· Take complaints from within the community
· Maintain radio communications with Dispatch and other patrol vehicles
· Provide directions to guests and contractors as necessary
· Assist with traffic control at gates when needed
· Perform all other duties as directed
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
· Valid PA ACT 235
· Prior Public Safety Officer experience preferred
· First Aid/AED certification required
· EMT Certification a plus
· Must possess good decision-making skills and a high level of patience in dealing effectively with property owners in a polite and courteous manner.
· Must be detailed oriented and have excellent writing, documentation, communications, and interpersonal skills.
· Must be able to work with little or no supervision.
· Must be able to follow standard operating procedures
· Basic computer knowledge necessary
· Valid driver’s license
WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Must possess flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
· May be asked to work overtime or double shift
· Work is performed inside and outside with exposure to inclement weather and unpredictable situations.
· Must be in Public Safety issued uniform while on duty. The Director must approve any exception to this rule.
SAFETY HAZARDS OF THE JOB:
· Slight to moderate risk of bodily injury through acts of crime, violence, or interaction with irate individuals.
· Inspection tours outdoors at all hours, may expose the security officer to the hazards of harsh weather, including slips/falls.
· Driving hazards, particularly in inclement weather
· Some heavy lifting (i.e., helping injured/sick individuals into emergency vehicles; lifting boxes of supplies) required
