Pay: $22.00-$25.00 DOE
Hours: M-F
OBJECTIVE OF THIS POSITION
A plate maker programs layouts to make plates for the printing presses. This position essentially takes the artwork design from the customer and transmits it onto plates so it can be printed. Plate makers are responsible for understanding machine and program set-up and operation.
ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS

- Review work order and write/recall CAD layout for specifications of customer preference.
- Apply proper masking, color bars, tick marks, side guides, and plate naming information.
- Determine if all information applied is correct before being sent to the plate setter.
- Un-archive items in proper make plate folder and launch plate file to digital plate making devise and expose plate.
- Identify what press would be appropriate to use by analyzing the work order.
- Enter, store, and retrieve information on computer aided equipment.
- Examine photographic images for obvious imperfections prior to plate making.
- Check combos from proofs to layout.
- Differentiate how each plant may want its layout based on preference and standards.
- Perform minor deletions, additions, or corrections to completed plates.
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma
- Pass Bennett Mechanical Aptitude Test
