Job Overview
Savvy Staffing is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing team Westborough, MA. This role supports Manufacturing Engineering by helping maintain manufacturing documentation, assisting with process improvements, and providing hands-on support on the production floor. The position works closely with engineers and manufacturing teams to ensure efficient, high-quality production while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process by updating and maintaining manufacturing files and systems, including Bills of Material (BOMs), work instructions, assembly/test procedures, and test records.
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving support within manufacturing under direction and supervision.
- Identify opportunities to reduce downtime and improve manufacturing efficiency; communicate recommendations to Manufacturing Engineering.
- Gather and track data related to build times, testing cycles, cost savings, and quality improvements.
- Assist Manufacturing Engineers with updates to manufacturing methods, procedures, ECOs, and deviations.
- Support training of manufacturing personnel on new products, tooling, equipment, and process changes.
- Schedule, perform, and document routine maintenance for production fixtures and test equipment.
- Participate in the setup, build, and use of assembly and test equipment, including collecting data for analysis.
- Support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives as assigned.
- Assist with installation, validation, and startup of new equipment and manufacturing processes.
- Follow all company policies, quality system requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with effective problem-solving abilities.
- High school diploma required; trade school or technical training preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related role within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Ability to work cooperatively, follow engineering direction, and maintain a positive, team-focused attitude.
- Basic computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems is a strong plus.
- Ability to read and interpret bills of material, wiring schematics, and assembly drawings preferred.
- Familiarity with basic hand tools such as screwdrivers and torque wrenches.
Work Environment
- Primarily office-based with regular interaction on the manufacturing floor.
- Occasional work outside the office environment and limited travel may be required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work while standing or sitting for extended periods.
- Must be able to communicate clearly in person and by phone.
Job Types: Full-time, Temp-to-hire
Pay: $24.00 - $29.00 per hour
