Duties
- Operate the cash register (POS system) accurately during retail sales transactions, including cash handling and balancing the cash drawer at shift end
- Provide friendly, professional customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product selections
- Conduct product demos when applicable to showcase features and benefits to customers
- Upsell related products or accessories to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Maintain stock levels on the sales floor through stocking, merchandising, and organizing products for optimal presentation
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when handling inquiries or placing orders via phone
- Assist in inventory management by conducting stock checks and supporting merchandising efforts aligned with store standards
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in bilingual settings is a plus
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and basic math skills for retail transactions
- Experience supervising or leading a team is advantageous but not mandatory; leadership qualities are valued
- Knowledge of retail store product details and merchandising techniques to support sales initiatives
- Ability to handle cash accurately, including cash drawer management and cash handling procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and professional phone etiquette
