Waccamaw Speedy Mart is looking for a dependable and friendly Cashier to join our team. The Cashier will assist customers, process purchases accurately, keep the checkout area clean and organized, and help create a welcoming experience for everyone who visits the store. The ideal candidate works well in a fast-paced environment, communicates professionally, and takes pride in providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and provide friendly, professional service
- Process cash, credit card, and other approved payments accurately
- Operate the cash register and provide customers with receipts and correct change
- Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and properly stocked
- Assist with stocking shelves, coolers, and store displays when needed
- Answer basic customer questions and help customers locate products
- Follow store procedures for refunds, discounts, and age-restricted products
- Notify management when products or supplies are running low
- Work cooperatively with other team members
- Complete general cleaning and other store-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous cashier, retail, or customer-service experience is preferred but not required
- Dependable, punctual, and ready to work
- Friendly and comfortable assisting customers
- Able to handle payments accurately and responsibly
- Able to follow directions and work efficiently
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and working in a busy environment
- Willing to maintain a clean, organized, and safe workplace
- Flexible availability is preferred
