Work Schedule, Shifts are typically:
- 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM or
- 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Monday–Friday (4 weekdays)
- Saturday or Sunday (1 day a weekend): 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- 5 day work week but always 2 days off
Schedules are subject to change based on business needs.

Founded in January 2009, Savvy Paws Pet Resort has become the premier boarding and daycare facility in Cherokee County. Our professional, knowledgeable, and friendly staff is dedicated to creating a safe, fun, and stimulating social environment for dogs. We are a boarding and daycare facility with a creative twist — everything can be done indoors!
The Position: Pet Care Associate
The Pet Care Associate is responsible for the overall care of all dogs within the resort. Under the direction of the Kennel Supervisor, this role ensures the cleanliness of suites and yards, as well as the proper feeding and handling of all dogs.
Candidates must be able to apply knowledge and skills when handling dogs of varying temperaments and must be comfortable gaining a dog’s trust when restraining them for grooming and/or treatment.
Responsibilities
- Observe dogs’ appearance and activity to monitor general physical condition and identify signs of illness or distress
- Thoroughly clean and disinfect all areas of the pet resort as needed
- Feed the appropriate types and amounts of food to each dog
- Handle and restrain dogs, including those that may be difficult to control
- Maintain and clean all equipment and tools used in daily duties
Working Conditions
- Primarily indoor work, with some outdoor duties
- Exposure to odors and noise
- Potential exposure to bites, scratches, animal waste, and contagious canine illnesses
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to handle dogs weighing up to 150 lbs
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods
- Physical strength and agility to safely capture and restrain active or strong dogs
