Role Description The Community Director is a full-time, on-site role based in Dallas, TX, responsible for leading day-to-day operations of a multifamily community. This position oversees leasing, resident relations, maintenance coordination, and property appearance to ensure a high-quality living experience and strong community reputation. The Community Director manages budgets, monitors financial performance, and implements strategies to optimize revenue and control expenses. Daily responsibilities include supervising on-site team members, setting performance expectations, and maintaining compliance with company policies and housing regulations. The role also involves resolving resident issues, driving resident retention initiatives, partnering with maintenance and construction teams on unit turns and rehabs, and using technology platforms to track performance metrics and streamline workflows.

Qualifications

  • Strong property management skills with experience overseeing multifamily operations and leading on-site teams.
  • Customer service and resident retention skills to build positive relationships, handle concerns professionally, and support a stable resident base.
  • Budgeting and financial management skills, including forecasting, expense control, and understanding of property-level P&L.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across operations, construction, and investment teams.
  • Experience with property management software and technology-driven workflows.
  • Knowledge of fair housing laws and relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Proven leadership skills, including coaching, performance management, and team development.
  • Previous experience in multifamily or residential property management; supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, real estate, or related field is a plus.
