Process Technician

Savor Foods Limited is a Series A stage startup pursuing transformational technology to produce high-quality, healthy, and affordable foods, carbon neutrally. We are seeking a creative, hands-on, deliverables-oriented operations-oriented chemical or mechanical operator to join our world-class team in scaling up our novel process. We’re well-funded and at the early Series-A stage, so you will have the opportunity to be part of creating and growing our values-first, mission-driven company.

Responsibilities

· Possess a positive attitude towards safety.

· Operating plant machinery and control process parameters.

· Set up, operate, and clean production equipment including but not limited to tanks, pumps and valves.

· Collect samples for the lab.

· Participate in continuous improvement of processes to improve safety and quality and increase productivity of the plant.

· Cleaning & Housekeeping activities.

· Attend various mandatory safety and departmental meetings.

· Communicate in a courteous and positive manner to accomplish duties effectively, working as a team with all involved.

· Work effectively with others as a team and ensure positive and productive work relationships are maintained within the department and company.

· Assist other personnel as needed and will perform other duties essential to the department as requested by your supervisor.

· Any other process-related duties, as required.

· Perform light maintenance

· Maintain warehouse inventory

Qualifications/Skills

· Required: Associate degree in Process Technology or similar OR minimum 5 years’ experience as a Process Operator or similar

· Experience handling hazardous chemicals a must.

· Ability to lift 50 Ibs on a continuous basis.

· Previous food processing experience in a GMP environment highly desired, including knowledge of GMP and HACCP programs

· Exceptional mechanical aptitude

· Previous forklift operation experience preferred

· Ability to perform cleaning and housekeeping activities

· Initiative, good interpersonal and communication skills, strong problem solving and organizational skills

· Open to continual learning, team-player

· Must be willing to work a full 12-hour shift on a rotation and willing to work night shifts.

· Must be able to work mostly indoors and in seasonally hot temperatures.

· High school diploma or GED equivalent.

What we offer

We offer competitive compensation and benefits. This is a hands-on, on-site position, so you will need to be able to commute to our facility in Batavia, Il.

Savor provides competitive salary ($80k-100k commensurate with experience) and benefits, including equity participation at a meaningful stage in Savor's growth, eligibility for our performance bonus program, health, dental, and vision coverage, and a generous PTO policy.
