ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
SaVida Health is a specialty medical practice providing outpatient opiate and alcohol addiction treatment services. SaVida Health's care model includes medical care, counseling, comprehensive toxicology testing, case management and medical management of psychiatric medications.
DESCRIPTION
The independently licensed clinician in this Clinical Leadership position is responsible for providing high-quality mental health and substance use disorder counseling services in an outpatient setting while also providing clinical leadership, guidance, and support to the care team. This individual will balance direct client care with leadership responsibilities that promote quality, compliance, collaboration, and positive clinical outcomes.
The Clinical Leader will ensure timely and accurate completion of all required clinical documentation and oversee adherence to agency, regulatory, and managed care requirements. Documentation includes, but is not limited to, intake paperwork, psychosocial assessments, client mental health and substance use disorder treatment histories, treatment plans, session notes, discharge and aftercare plans, collaborative forms and assessments, billing forms, and insurance authorizations.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide individual and/or group counseling to clients with mental health and substance use disorders
- Provide continuity of quality care through effective documentation and communication with collaborative providers and community agencies
- Provide referrals for alternative levels of care and community resources as clinically appropriate
- Act as a client advocate and coordinate required services or resolve emergency problems in crisis situations
- Document all clinical content accurately and in accordance with agency, regulatory, and payer requirements
- Review client progress on a quarterly basis and update treatment plans to reflect changes in treatment goals and clinical needs
- Participate in case consultation, clinical reviews, and quality improvement activities
- Maintain compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, licensing requirements, and organizational policies
Leadership Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day clinical leadership, guidance, and support to clinicians and other members of the clinical team
- Serve as a resource to staff regarding clinical questions, challenging cases, crisis situations, and treatment planning
- Support consistent application of clinical policies, procedures, standards, and best practices
- Assist with onboarding, training, mentoring, and development of clinical staff
- Facilitate or participate in regular clinical team meetings, case reviews, and consultation
- Monitor clinical documentation and provide constructive feedback to promote quality, completeness, and compliance
- Identify opportunities for clinical process improvement and assist with implementation of quality improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with medical providers, program leadership, care coordination, and other departments to ensure integrated and effective client care
- Assist leadership with identifying staffing, workflow, and clinical service needs
- Support performance management and professional development of clinical team members, as appropriate
- Promote a positive, collaborative, accountable, and client-centered clinical culture
- Escalate significant clinical, compliance, staffing, or operational concerns to appropriate leadership
- Serve as a clinical liaison between frontline clinicians and organizational leadership
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
This position requires knowledge and experience in mental health and substance use disorder counseling, along with the ability to provide clinical leadership and support to a multidisciplinary team.
- Master’s Degree in counseling, social work, or another related behavioral health field
- LICSW, LMHC, or comparable independent clinical license required
- Minimum of 2–3 years of clinical experience in mental health and/or substance use disorder treatment
- Prior supervisory, leadership, mentoring, or clinical team leadership experience preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of substance use disorders and mental health treatment
- Experience providing individual, couples, and/or group counseling to diverse populations
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage complex cases and crisis situations
- Ability to provide clinical guidance, coaching, and support to other clinicians
- Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Strong computer skills; experience with EMRs, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel preferred
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Bilingual/bicultural experience a plus
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of ethical, professional, and client-centered care
