Job Title: MSW Practicum Intern – Outpatient Program

Summary of the Position
The MSW Practicum Intern supports the delivery of culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and client-centered outpatient mental health services to individuals, couples, and families across the lifespan. This role is designed to provide graduate-level social work students with meaningful, supervised clinical experience within Savia’s outpatient program. Interns will primarily provide services in person, with opportunities to observe or participate in telehealth services as appropriate and permitted by their academic program.
The intern will receive ongoing clinical supervision and training while developing foundational skills in assessment, treatment planning, documentation, and ethical clinical practice.

Essential Functions Of The Role
- Participate in comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments alongside or under the supervision of a licensed clinician.
- Assist in developing individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and the supervising clinician.
- Provide outpatient therapy services (individual, family, or group), consistent with practicum requirements and level of training.
- Maintain assigned direct clinical hours as required by the academic program.
- Utilize the Ritten Electronic Health Record (EHR) system for documentation, scheduling, and communication, with training provided.
- Complete progress notes and other required documentation within agency timelines, under supervision.
- Attend individual and group supervision, case consultation, and team meetings as scheduled.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to cultural, racial, gender, and socioeconomic diversity in all client interactions.
- Adhere to ethical standards, confidentiality laws (HIPAA), and Savia’s policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with supervisors and other providers as appropriate for client care and learning purposes.
- Currently enrolled in an accredited MSW program.
- Eligible for second-year (advanced standing or equivalent) practicum placement.
- Interest in outpatient clinical social work and direct client services.
- Availability for in-person services, including evenings and/or weekends.
- Bilingual (Spanish or other language) strongly preferred but not required.
- Strong professionalism, reliability, and openness to feedback and learning.
- Schedule and total hours determined by academic program requirements.
- Primarily in-person outpatient services, with possible exposure to telehealth.
- Weekly individual supervision provided by a licensed clinician, in accordance with school requirements.
