Job Summary
The Shipping Specialist is responsible for supporting the accurate and timely preparation, packaging, and shipment of pharmaceutical products in conjunction with the Senior Shipping Specialist. This role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to regulatory and safety guidelines, and a commitment to maintaining the integrity of all products throughout the shipping process.
Duties:
- Verify shipping addresses or other demographics.
- Follow pharmacy processes to prepare outgoing packages ensuring contents remain safe and secure during transit.
- Receive incoming packages, sort contents, enter inventory, deliver to appropriate department and ensure proper storage temperatures are observed and maintained.
- Assist with performing shipping validation procedures quarterly according to facility Standard Operating Procedures.
- Maintain a safe work environment and exhibit safe work practices.
- Pursue personal development and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role. Willing to attend training to further develop relevant knowledge, technique, and skills.
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned for emergencies or other operational reasons for which the employee is qualified to perform to maintain appropriate level of pharmacy service.
- Willing to cross train to help or work in other departments, as needed.
- Must have flexibility to work varying scheduled shifts that fall between 0830-1800, Monday-Friday.
- Receive and input credit card information and process payment.
- Answer phones in a friendly and professional manner.
- Must be able to pay attention to detail and multitask.
- Keep area clean and neat and free of clutter by performing daily, weekly, or monthly cleaning chores as assigned.
- Train newly hired staff, pharmacy students, or interns through demonstration and sharing of knowledge.

Skills, Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Professional appearance
- Mobility within the entire facility
- Able to prove US employment eligibility
- Able to pass drug screening
- Able to pass background screening
- Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required
- Able to work up to 40 hours per week, scheduled in up to 8-hour shifts.
- Able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and use repetitive foot movement throughout the shift.
- Able to lift as much as 50 pounds.
