Overview
We are seeking a Retail Supervisor to lead our retail team with enthusiasm and expertise. In this role, you will oversee daily store operations, ensure exceptional customer service, and drive sales with purchasing and merchandising. Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day ordering, inventory, receiving, and pricing of produce, grocery, cheese, and paper goods and their organization and accuracy in the POS system
- Build relationships with vendors and sales representatives to best follow sales trends, understand product quality, seek out local specialty foods, and offer best in class selection of grocery etc inventory for the store
- Study and speak to Savenor’s wide selection of prime meats, seafood, specialty foods, charcuterie, and cheeses
- Provide excellent customer service: cashier, greet, field incoming phone calls, take orders, assist with meat counter service as needed, and share knowledge to assist customers in timely and effective manner
- Collaborate with Ecommerce department in order packing, labeling, and fulfillment
- Work with the General Manager to maintain the quality of store life for both customers and staff by keeping a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment that demonstrates creative merchandising
- Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner
- Hire, train, and guide grocery team staff to ensure excellent performance and adherence to company standards
- Communicate and collaborate across meat, ecommerce, and marketing departments to grow sales, ensure a positive customer experience, and efficient workplace
- Package, label, quality check, and stock produce, grocery, cheese, and meat items for the sales floor as needed
- Make and portion prepared foods such as sandwiches, salads, charcuterie, and cheese trays as needed
- Follow safety guidance in food processing equipment, safe food handling, and cleanliness to meet city, state, and federal cleanliness standards
- Perform routine cleaning of retail storefront and back of house duties such as sweep, mop, wash dishes, clean shelving, coolers, walk-ins, etc.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Retail or food service experience, including managerial, inventory management, and POS systems experience.
- A passion for animal proteins, respect for sustainability, and curiosity to educate oneself and others on our Savenor’s rich culinary history and food culture.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including but not limited to opening and closing shifts, weekends, and holidays. Business hours are Tuesday- Friday 11AM-7PM, Saturday 11AM-5PM.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Ability to navigate a refrigerated stockroom, office spaces, retail spaces, with the capability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to withstand extended periods of standing for a full 8 hour shift in a workplace with stairs
Pay: From $52,000.00 per year
