What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, Client and Advisor Platforms position at Savant?
Build the digital front door for our clients and advisors.
If you get excited about transforming complex data into clean, intuitive experiences — and you’ve actually done it — keep reading.
At Savant, we’re building the next generation of digital platforms that power how our clients and advisors interact with their financial lives. This is not a caretaking role. This is a build, modernize, and lead opportunity at a firm that’s investing aggressively in its technology, data, and digital experience.
We’re looking for a hands‑on technical leader who can own the full journey — from front‑end architecture and platform strategy to delivery, adoption, and long‑term scalability.
Why this role exists
We’re evolving beyond legacy tools and stitched‑together platforms. This role exists to own and elevate Savant’s client‑ and advisor‑facing digital experiences — replacing fragmented experiences with modern, fast, secure, and intuitive platforms that advisors want to use and clients trust.
You’ll sit at the center of technology, data, product, and the business, turning strategy into real, shipped outcomes.
What you’ll actually do (day‑to‑day reality)
This role blends technical depth, product mindset, and leadership. You will:
-
Own the vision, roadmap, and execution of Savant’s client and advisor platforms — from strategy through delivery
-
Serve as the senior front‑end engineering leader, setting standards for architecture, performance, accessibility, reliability, and developer experience
-
Lead platforms built on Azure, leveraging Microsoft Fabric and Snowflake to deliver governed, data‑driven UI experiences
-
Partner closely with Product, Data, Enterprise Applications, Security, and business leaders to integrate platforms like Tamarac, Salesforce, and eMoney into seamless advisor and client journeys
-
Run a product‑oriented delivery model (backlogs, prioritization, releases, demos, stakeholder communication — the full picture)
-
Drive measurable improvements in usability, adoption, and satisfaction through analytics, research, and continuous optimization
-
Advance AI‑enabled experiences — intelligent search, advisor copilots, personalization — using modern LLM/RAG patterns with responsible governance
-
Lead a blended delivery organization (internal engineers, consultants, offshore teams), while hiring and developing long‑term platform talent
-
Communicate clearly with executives — translating technical tradeoffs into business decisions, outcomes, and ROI
This is a leadership role, but it is not “hands off.” We expect you to know what good looks like — and how to get there.
Qualifications:
The technical foundation we expect you to bring
This role isn’t a stretch assignment. We’re looking for someone who already operates at this level. You bring:
-
10 years of progressive software engineering experience, with deep, hands‑on front‑end development
-
5 years leading teams delivering modern web platforms at scale
-
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
-
Strong expertise with modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks, UI architecture, performance, and accessibility
-
Azure‑first experience, including building data‑driven UIs powered by Fabric and Snowflake (or comparable platforms)
-
Proven experience integrating wealth platforms — Tamarac, Salesforce, eMoney strongly preferred
-
Experience delivering in a regulated environment (security, privacy, SDLC discipline matter here)
-
Comfort leading blended teams (employees consulting offshore) and building delivery cadence that actually works
-
A track record of shipping high‑quality platforms — not just talking about them
AI isn’t optional here
We’re building forward — not catching up. You should have real exposure to AI-enabled digital experiences, such as:
-
Intelligent search
-
Advisor or internal copilots
-
Personalization driven by firm data
You don’t need to be an AI researcher, but you do need to understand modern patterns (RAG, evaluation, governance, UX implications) and how to apply them responsibly in client‑facing platforms.
What success looks like
-
Advisors and clients experience platforms that are fast, intuitive, reliable, and accessible
-
Data from Tamarac, Salesforce, and eMoney is consistent, governed, and easy to use
-
Delivery is predictable; quality is high; releases don’t feel chaotic
-
The team is engaged, growing, and proud of what they’re building
-
Leaders trust the roadmap — because it’s clear, realistic, and delivering value
How You’ll Work
-
Work model: Primarily remote, with flexibility to meet in person at regional offices as needed
-
Location focus: Chicagoland / driving distance to Savant offices
This role is for someone who wants to build something meaningful, at scale, alongside a smart, pragmatic leadership team that values craftsmanship, accountability, and modern engineering.
If you’ve been looking for a role where your technical judgment and leadership actually matter — this is it.
