Job Family Description

Training personnel design, develop and deliver training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge, and ensure required qualifications, of employees within the organization. They assess training needs, develop curriculum, and facilitate workshops or training sessions tailored to specific learning objectives. Additionally, they evaluate training outcomes and adjust strategies as necessary to ensure continuous improvement in employee performance and organizational effectiveness.

Discipline Description

Training personnel develop and present training curriculum and materials for the general workforce and targeted functional/technical areas. They analyze employee learning needs and partner with subject matter experts and business management to provide input for course content. They plan and coordinate skills assessments and training, and they develop and monitor metrics for evaluating training and development effectiveness. Training personnel provide training in various formats, such as classroom settings, via video modules, and via other computer-based formats.

Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include

  • Design and produce multimedia content including graphics, animations, videos, audio, photography, and interactive media to support training needs.
  • Demonstrated experience with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, particularly in graphic design, video editing, photography, and motion graphics tools.
  • Collaborate with instructional designers and subject matter experts to translate complex concepts into clear and engaging visual content.
  • Capture and edit video footage of demonstrations, interviews, and processes for training and knowledge preservation.
  • Create visual enhancements such as infographics, illustrations, job aids, and layout designs for training materials.
  • Coordinate and execute multiple creative projects, driving them from early concept development to successful completion.
  • Ensure all multimedia products meet accessibility, quality, and technical standards, including formatting for various platforms.
  • Support knowledge preservation efforts by documenting procedures, organizing media, and contributing to content repositories.
  • Operate and maintain multimedia equipment such as cameras, lighting, audio/visual, and editing hardware/software.
  • Provide technical support and guidance on the best multimedia practices, tools, and production workflows to support the training department.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field plus at least five years of experience (YOE) in a relevant role, OR Master's degree in relevant field plus at least two years of experience (YOE), OR Doctoral degree in relevant field
  • Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered

  • Respond to customer inquiries, provide guidance, and ensure a positive experience through clear and timely communication.
  • Executes all phases of live stream event delivery—including setup, production, and post production—to support the Site Training organization.
  • Maintain digital asset libraries and ensure consistent branding, file organization, and version control.
  • Maintain and update the site’s knowledge preservation database, SiteTube, ensuring information is accurate, organized, and easily accessible.
  • Develop additional digital learning assets for instructor-led and web-based training using Adobe Captivate and Articulate 360.
  • Develop 3D renderings and visual assets utilizing Maya, Blender, AutoCAD, or Cinema 4D to enhance training content and learner engagement.
  • Education and/or experience in AR/VR and/or instructor qualifications desired but not required.

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance.
