Discipline Description
Maintenance managers oversee the maintenance, reliability, and regulatory compliance of critical infrastructure, ensuring safe and efficient operations in the highly regulated nuclear environment. They lead teams responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance, work planning, and asset management to support mission objectives while adhering to federal and contractual safety standards. Managers collaborate with engineering, operations, and regulatory personnel to implement maintenance best practices, optimize system performance, and address facility needs proactively. They are accountable for budget management, workforce development, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance efficiency and ensure long-term asset sustainability. They drive a strong safety culture, ensuring all maintenance activities align with customer directives, environmental regulations, and nuclear safety protocols.
Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include
Lead, manage, and direct Facility Administration Personnel understand site contract requirements. Develop and implement strategies to support mission accomplishments. Analyze business data, define needs, and manage budget while managing activities to control expenditures. Analyze and interpret the Facility Schedule to understand sequencing priorities. Translate these interpretations into responsive strategies, processes, practices, and execution plans. Develop and justify budget and personnel needs and manage activities to control costs. Meet changing mission needs by initiating and justifying change control to re-prioritize or reschedule current activities or reallocate resources to meet emerging needs. Train and develop the workforce, ensuring consistency and repeatable training and qualification data with emphasis on cross-training and maximizing flexibility.

Required Qualifications
- Twelve or more YOE as an individual contributor in one or more of the roles managed plus three or more years of experience (YOE) in a relevant management role, OR Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field plus eight or more years of experience (YOE) in one or more of the roles managed, OR Master's Degree in a relevant field plus five or more years of experience (YOE) in one or more of the roles managed
- Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered
- DOE or other industrial facility experience preferred.
- Broad infrastructure technical base or knowledge of site services operations.
- Knowledgeable of business management principles, take a well-ordered approach to resolving business situations, draw logical inferences about the future, forecast/plan fiscal and long-range budgets, and structure resources and actions in a logical manner to facilitate accomplishment of business objectives.
- Working knowledge of DOE Orders along with training and experience in site services requirements and practices in the nuclear and non-nuclear environment.
- Experience or training in company policies and procedures affecting conduct of operations, quality assurance, safety, security, personnel benefits and policies, and site administrative systems is desirable.
- Must be able to build strong collaborative relationships among individuals empowering them to share information, resources and ideas to achieve organizational goals and business results.
