Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and reviewing nuclear criticality safety evaluations (NCSEs) under the guidance of senior staff.
- Support hazard analyses and help identify safety controls for processes involving fissile materials.
- Participate in facility walkdowns to observe operations and verify compliance with safety requirements.
- Help prepare technical documentation and reports for internal and regulatory review.
- Learn and apply nuclear analysis tools such as MCNP, SCALE, or KENO.
- Attend training sessions and workshops to expand your technical and regulatory knowledge.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 4 years of experience working in a DOE nuclear facility in a technical, safety, or operations role.
- Familiarity with DOE nuclear safety culture and operational protocols.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Clear communication skills and attention to detail.
- A safety-first mindset and willingness to ask questions and seek guidance.
- Active Security Clearance
