The Savannah R-III School District is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to serve as the High School Attendance Secretary. This position plays a vital role in supporting student success by maintaining accurate attendance records, communicating with families, and assisting with daily office operations. In additional other secretarial responsibilities will be expected. This position will be for the upcoming 26-27 school year and follows a 10 month work calendar.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate daily student attendance records using the district's student information system
- Receive and document parent/guardian communications regarding absences and tardies
- Monitor and report attendance trends and concerns to administration
- Generate attendance reports as required by district and state guidelines
- Communicate with parents/guardians regarding attendance issues and follow up on unverified absences
- Assist with student check-in/check-out procedures
- Support front office operations, including answering phones and greeting visitors
- Ensure compliance with district policies and state attendance laws
- Maintain confidentiality of student records and information
- Confidentiality & Professionalism:
- Handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Demonstrate professionalism in all interactions with students, parents, and staff.
- High school diploma required; associate's degree or higher preferred.
- Proven experience in office administration, finance handling, or secretarial roles (experience in an educational setting is a plus).
- Strong proficiency in office software (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of financial procedures, including balancing accounts and processing purchase orders, preferred.
