PRIMARY FUNCTION: This position is responsible for modeling, planning, developing, coordinating, and evaluating the specialized instructional delivery of services to students with identified disabilities, as well as data collection and analysis determining the most appropriate specialized instruction to address individual student needs, and for effectively facilitating the professional development of individual teachers and teacher groups.

REQUIREMENTS:
Educational Level: Masters degree in Special Education or related field from an accredited college or university.
Preferred
Education Specialist degree in special education or related field
Experience, Skill and Certification:
- Valid professional certification in Special Education
- At least five (5) years of teaching experience
- Proficient in the use of technology
- Proven ability to communicate well with parents and staff.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, administrative work, and special projects.
- Demonstrable knowledge of laws, policies and practices related to students with disabilities.
Preferred
- Previous supervisory experience
- Previous instructional/academic coach experience
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Coordinates delivery of services to identified students.
- Designs and presents model lessons to enhance skills of individual coteaching teams.
- Facilitates the use of data to support teachers in decision-making and measuring of student achievement and progress leading toward improved student outcomes.
- Meets regularly with teachers, both in groups and individually, to analyze student work and instructional practices to ensure that “best practice” methods are utilized.
- Designs and implements a variety of job-embedded professional learning experiences aligned with the school improvement goals.
- Provides programming support to special education teachers.
- Completes assessments to determine program effectiveness and generates plans for program improvement.
- Develops and implements procedures for managing special education data required for trend analysis.
- Assists in developing training and information material for dissemination to schools, parents, and community agencies.
- Uses program evaluation data to provide information to the Senior Director, Exceptional Children.
- Assists in developing strategies to reduce the disproportionality problem which exists in our district.
- Assists in implementing procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Recommends and develops program budgets and grants.
- Performs other duties as necessary for the effectiveness of the organization.
Terms of Employment
Incumbents will receive an annual contract. The work calendar will be 250 days. Salary will be determined based on level of certification and allowable experience. Exempt. Revised 07-2023

Salary : $93,028 - $157,804
