Job Summary
We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Savannah Care Center team 2-3 days per week. Savannah Care Center is a faith-based, nonprofit pregnancy resource center dedicated to providing compassion, hope and help to women and men experiencing unplanned pregnancies. Savannah Care Center does not perform or refer for abortions.
The staff nurse assists with the provision of client care and medical services operations including pregnancy testing, limited obstetric ultrasound, and prenatal health education. Training is provided by Savannah Care Center at no cost and employee will be compensated for educational hours.
Qualifications:
- Be a committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
- Exhibit strong commitment and dedication to the pro-life position and sexual purity.
- Agree with and be willing to uphold the Statement of Faith, Vision and Mission Statements.
- Must possess a current Georgia nursing license or compact nursing license, and function in accordance with the state licensing board.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal and administration skills.
- At least one year experience as a practicing nurse.
- Experience in a women’s health or public health related setting preferred but not required.
Essential functions: The RN performs the following duties in accordance with existing medical policies and procedures under the supervision of the nurse manager.
- Provide clinical services in accordance with level of expertise and training.
- Provide clinical assessments including intake forms, obtaining vital signs, and reviewing consent forms and discharge instructions.
- Document patient care in charts and properly maintain and archive patient medical records.
- Provide support to the other medical staff, including chaperoning exams.
- Provide patient health education, referrals for medical care/follow-up, and other pertinent community referrals.
- Assist and conduct phone follow-up with patients, as needed.
- Review patient records for completeness.
- Assess medical equipment for proper function and scheduled maintenance.
- If there is a medical emergency on-site, follow the procedures for medical emergencies.
- Implement medical director’s written standing orders and other clinic policies and procedures, including compliance with OSHA, CLIA, privacy practices, and infection control.
- Disinfect medical equipment according to existing policies and procedures.
- Maintain an active nursing license within the state and comply with state and professional continuing education requirements.
- Maintain CPR certification (BLS).
- Obtain and maintain additional certifications as requested (e.g., limited obstetrical
- ultrasound examinations, childbirth instructor, HIV counseling, STD/STI training).
