Job Summary
The Transload Operator's responsibilities include but are not limited to safely and efficiently managing the unloading of materials consisting of a variety of bulk liquid and dry products and is to safely unload and switch railcars in a timely manner.
Responsibilities And Duties
- Follow operating procedures and policies safely and effectively
- Perform general maintenance on equipment and assist with handyman duties within the facility (general maintenance, landscape upkeep & painting)
- Interact with plant people, railroad crews, and visitors
- Operate and maintain Class 1 Power Units (no CDL required), railcar/trans loading equipment (e.g., hoses, portable conveyors, transfer pumps, portable stair systems, small to medium-sized equipment, etc.)
- Interest in being cross-trained on all functions at the facility
- Committed to working safely at all times including a commitment to the policies and procedures of the operation.
- Positive attitude and a good team member.
- Must be able to attend and pass all tests associated with job related coursework.
- For safety reasons, you must be able to read, write, understand, and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English
- Some experience in a rail environment a plus.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical, reference checks, drug screen, motor-vehicle report and criminal background check.
- Must be able to obtain a TWIC card
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Computer skills (light data entry)
- Basic Math Skills
- Valid Driver's License
