What You’ll Be Doing
- Practice and abide by site-specific and company safety procedures and rules
- Must understand and implement the Savage Maintenance Program
- Perform a pre/post shift equipment inspections
- Maintain and report spare parts inventory
- Properly record and complete maintenance reports and service records
- Repair and maintain pumps, motors, hydraulics, mobile and plant specific equipment
- Maintain good relations and open communication with coworkers and management via radio and other proper means
- Maintain a clean work environment by removing trash and debris from all areas of responsibility including structures, offices, restrooms, break rooms, vehicles, etc.
- Complete PM services on plant and process equipment
- Knowledge of rigging
- Must be willing to perform any other special tasks assigned by management
- Experience with repairing and maintaining bridge cranes and coke cutting equipment
- At least 3-5 years of experience with heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
- Knowledge and working experience with different types of welding and cutting.
- Must be able to periodically work at heights of up to but not limited to 150’.
- Practices and understands time management, is a self-starter with a positive outlook.
- Must have a strong mechanical background.
- Refinery or Industrial Plant Operations: experience with high safety standards and regulations associated with hazardous industrial plant environments.
- Experience with hydraulic operated hoist and drilling equipment
- Boiler maker skills a plus
- Knowledge of SAP {CMMS)
- Experience with automated equipment and basic computers are a plus.
- Additional experience operating back hoe, front end loader, dozer, or other heavy equipment is a plus.
- Ability to work outside in any weather condition
- Must be willing to work a rotating schedule
- Work in an environment containing coal dust, hazardous noise, confined space, and in hot or cold environments
- Work at heights, climbing stairs, and climbing ladders
- Walk on uneven ground and up to 3 miles per shift
- Must have ability to wear required PPR
- Must be able to pass a fit test and pulmonary function test for the purposes of wearing a respirator and recertify annually or as needed
- Lift up to 50 pounds frequently
- Must be able to periodically work at heights of up to but not limited to 150’
