Heavy Equipment Operator in Mooresboro, NC
- Full-time position
- Rotating Shift:
- Working 7 days on / 7 days off
- Rotating Days and nights every two weeks
- 12 hour shifts - 6 am - 6 pm/ 6 pm-6 am
- Overtime
- Pay Range $23 per hour

What You'll Be Doing
- Operate conveyor systems to transport coal in accordance with applicable safety practices
- Railcar Switching
- Unload and reclaim limestone and coal
- Maintenance, trouble shooting and repairing facilities, equipment and coal handling system
- Perform routine clean-up and housekeeping
- Complete daily safety inspection of equipment and facilities to ensure safe operations
What you'll need
- Experience in operation of dozers, front-end loaders, excavators, locomotives and other heavy equipment
- Ability to read, write, and understand English, follow written and/or verbal instruction, and possess basic math and computer skills
- Work with a team, take direction from supervisors(s), adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules
- Must be willing to work any shift, including weekends, holidays and overtime as needed
- 2-5 years of experience preferred but not required
- Valid Drivers License
Here are some of the physical requirements for this role
- Work in an environment containing coal dust, hazardous noise, confined space, and in hot or cold environments
- Work at heights, climbing stairs and climbing ladders
- Walk on uneven ground and up to 3 miles per shift
- Must be able to pass a fit test and pulmonary function test for the purposes of wearing a respirator and recertify annually or as needed
- Lift up to 50 pounds frequently
