This role plays a key part in maintaining the accuracy of financial records and ensuring compliance with standard accounting practices. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and experienced in inventory and cost accounting.Key ResponsibilitiesPost journal entries and accrualsReconcile bank accounts, accounts receivable/payable, inventory, and general ledger accountsMaintain and reconcile fixed asset and capital lease schedulesPrepare and post payroll-related journal entries for both employee and contract laborSupport month-end close activities, including preparation of reports, variance analysis, and audit documentationGenerate monthly financial statements and assist in budget vs. actual reviewsInvestigate and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with relevant departmentsSupport the year-end audit processContribute to process documentation and continuous improvement effortsStep in to support AR reporting and other areas during absences or peak periodsQualifications & Skills1 - 3 years of accounting experienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)Experience working for a CPA is preferredExperience with inventory cost accounting and/or manufacturing/distribution accounting (a must)Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP's, etc.)Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting systems – Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central a plusKnowledge of GAAP and solid analytical and problem-solving abilitiesStrong verbal and written communication skillsTeam player who can collaborate across departmentsPreferred BackgroundPrior experience in foodservice distribution or supply chain environmentsExposure to capital lease accounting and fixed asset managementCompany DescriptionSavage Search Associates is a full service, family-owned recruitment firm supporting Executive Search, Management, Human Resources, Accounting & Finance, Sales & Marketing, Operations, Construction Management, and Administrative search projects.
